Poppy 70th Birthday Cake for Pat, Blandford Forum

I had great fun designing a 70th Birthday cake for Sue in Blandford Forum. The cake was a surprise for her sister, also Pat’s Birthday. Sue requested pillar red poppies on the cake. Pat and Sue also have a brother and the poppies symbolised a childhood memory they all shared!

10 inch Sponge cake with white fondant and butter-cream and strawberry jam filling.
We just so happened to have some beautiful poppies in the garden, which I was able to take inspiration from. They are such a rich red with beautiful delicate petals.
